There’s a herd of elephants marching across America — and they don’t belong to a zoo. A traveling exhibition of 100 life-size elephant sculptures, dubbed the Great Elephant Migration, has been in Newport, Rhode Island, for the summer. Next stop? New York City, followed by Florida, Montana, and California. The sculptures, made by artists in India, are all replicas of real Indian elephants. Keep an eye out for them in your neck of the woods.
Every woman’s experience with menopause is different, but for those who find themselves dealing with bone loss as they get older, medication may be able to help. Abaloparatide, a daily at-home injection, increases bone density by stimulating the cells that make new bones. The “bone-building” drug has been approved for women and men with osteoporosis in the U.S. for several years, but it’s now poised to help millions more as it’s set to roll out in England within the next three months. According to the watchdog National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, or NICE, about half of women aged 80 in the U.K. have osteoporosis, the risk of which significantly increases after menopause due to hormonal changes. “The independent committee heard from patients about how debilitating osteoporosis can be. Our focus is on enabling access to care that improves quality of life while offering value to the taxpayer,” said Jonathan Benger, chief medical officer and deputy chief executive at NICE, per the BBC.

Designs Unveiled for the World’s Tallest Timber Skyscraper
Michael Green Architecture
Milwaukee is currently home to the tallest timber building in the world, the Ascent MKE apartment complex, and it appears the Wisconsin city could maintain that title for the foreseeable future. Vancouver studio Michael Green Architects recently released plans for a multi-tower timber project that’ll be around 600 feet tall with 55 stories — more than double the height of the Ascent. Instead of wooden beams, the architects plan to use mass timber materials, also known as engineered wood. Mass timber checks a lot of boxes: It’s aesthetically timeless, sturdy, and has excellent fire resistance, and it’s cheaper and more environmentally friendly than concrete. Called the Marcus Center, the 1.2 million-square-foot Milwaukee project would feature 750 residences, as well as offices, hotel rooms, retail space, and public walkways, Popular Science reports. Check out more renderings of the new timber skyscraper.
